IRON WILL Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 11, 2026 · Last updated: June 12, 2026

Iron Will ("Iron Will," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Iron Will mobile application (the "App") handles information when you use it.

Iron Will is designed as a local-first fitness tracker. You do not need to create an account to use the App, and your workout records are not uploaded to an Iron Will cloud account.

1. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the information you enter or generate locally on your device. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

On supported native devices, structured workout data is stored in a local SQLite database. Preferences and lightweight application state are stored using local key-value storage, including AsyncStorage. Core workout tracking is designed to function offline.

Iron Will does not currently provide an Iron Will account system or cloud synchronization service for this locally stored workout data.

2. Information That May Leave Your Device

User-Directed Exports

When you choose an export feature, the App creates a file containing the data included in that export, such as workout information in JSON or CSV format. The file leaves the App only at your direction through the operating system's share or save interface.

You control the destination, which may include Files, email, messaging, cloud storage, or another application. After you share or save an export, the recipient or destination service handles it under its own privacy practices. Review the destination carefully before sending fitness information.

Sentry Diagnostics

Production versions of Iron Will use Sentry to detect crashes, errors, and performance problems. Sentry may receive diagnostic information such as:

We do not configure Sentry to attach an Iron Will account name or email address, because the App has no user account system. We do not intentionally send workout contents, exported files, or locally stored profile choices to Sentry. Diagnostic details can occasionally include information present in an unexpected error message, so we limit Sentry use to troubleshooting and reliability.

Sentry is disabled in development builds. Sentry processes data as our service provider under its own security and privacy terms: sentry.io/privacy.

PostHog Lifecycle Analytics

Production versions of Iron Will use PostHog for limited product analytics. The current configuration records application lifecycle events, such as installation or update, opening the App, and moving the App between foreground and background. PostHog may also process technical metadata such as App version, operating system, device type, timestamps, an automatically generated analytics identifier, and network metadata such as an IP address. Because GeoIP resolution is not currently disabled, PostHog may derive approximate geographic information from the network request.

Automatic capture of touches and screen views is disabled. We do not intentionally send exercise names, set values, workout notes, exported files, or locally stored profile choices to PostHog.

PostHog is disabled in development builds. PostHog processes analytics as our service provider under its own privacy terms: posthog.com/privacy.

Communications You Initiate

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and any diagnostic details or attachments you include. We use this information to respond to you, investigate issues, and improve the App.

3. How We Use Information

We use information handled by the App to:

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these activities rely on providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent where consent is required.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Iron Will data for third-party advertising, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Iron Will does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, and the App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because no such tracking occurs.

Information may be disclosed only:

If Iron Will is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, relevant information may be transferred subject to this Policy and applicable law.

5. Retention and Deletion

Workout records and preferences stored by the App remain on your device until you delete them, use the App's reset controls, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Files you exported must be deleted from their saved destinations separately.

Sentry and PostHog retain service-provider data according to our configured retention settings, operational needs, contractual terms, and applicable law. Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

You can remove locally stored Iron Will data using Settings > Reset All Data. You may also uninstall the App. These actions do not delete copies that you previously exported or information already sent to a third-party destination at your direction.

6. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction or objection to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have a right to data portability or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Most fitness information is available directly in the App and is controlled locally by you. For questions or requests involving diagnostics, analytics, or support communications, contact us using the address below. We may need information sufficient to verify and locate the relevant records. Because Iron Will does not maintain user accounts, we may be unable to associate an anonymous diagnostic or analytics record with a particular person.

You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority where that right applies. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information handled by the App. Local data receives the protections provided by your device and operating system. You are responsible for securing your device, device passcode, backups, and exported files.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Processing

Sentry, PostHog, and other service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data-protection laws from your location. Where required, we use contractual or other legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.

9. Children's Privacy

Iron Will is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. A higher minimum age may apply in some jurisdictions.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The App or its communications may link to services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. This Policy does not cover information handled independently by Apple, Google, an export destination, your email provider, or another third party.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Iron Will changes or legal requirements evolve. We will revise the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes apply prospectively unless otherwise stated.
